Hello,

I just recently recieved a Phillips Tivo and I installed the 1.6.2 image, placed the coupler through a drilled hole in the back and got it on my network. I can ping the static address I gave it with great replies.

When I try to run the Guided setup it fails to connect on the "First Setup Call" and says "Service Unavailable". I do not have a phone cable plugged into the built in modem as it is on the network via the turbonet card.

I have opened all ports that need to be opened from http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/Network/NetworkingHowto and still have the same issues. I use a Billion 7300G on Dodo adsl 1.

Is there any known issues with Dodo and the Transparent Proxy issue? If so what do I need to ask of Dodo or how do I manipulate the Tivo to bypass the proxy?

Cheers guys
Sam

Hi Sam

Fist of all you do not need a telephone cable plugged into the modem.

Also, as suggested via email before you posted this thread, if you do a search for "transparent proxy" on both these forums and the oztivo website you would find lots of information on how to figure out if Dodo is at fault with your problem or something else.

Putting the words transparent proxy into this forum's search gives a sizeable list of threads to look at.

Putting the string transparent;proxy into the oztivo search brings up a list too, including:

http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/Install/GuidedSetupFailsISPProxyIssue
http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/Network/AustralianISPs
http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/Software/UserManual16#EmuProxyZA
http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/Network/BypassTransparentProxyServer

Although from reading those pages it appears EmuProxyZA is enabled on the latest image and Dodo is not on the list of a troublesome ISP so unless it is something they have recently done then you may have to look elsewhere for your issue. Try some of the procedures listed in some of the other threads to see that your TiVo is looking at the "outside world" past your modem/router and go from there. Maybe this thread can get you started with some of the determining checks: http://forums.oztivo.net/showthread.php?t=1485
