Hi all,

I seem to have a problem when attempting a daily call for the guide. When I imaged my hard drive for my TIVO (Philips 1.6.2) and did the initial setup I was able to complete the setup and complete a daily call. However after the restart I am unable to do the test call nor the daily call (Service unavailable message). I have waited until it has exited the maintainance mode before trying the call. I have reimage the drive a second time and the same thing happened.

I have looked at the other thread for the Daily call not working and I don't think I have a proxy problem (I am able to wget both port numbers). I am with TPG.

I can telnet to my box as well access the Tivoweb so I think my hardware is fine (using a Turbonet card via ethernet to a ADSL router). I can ping outside so my DNS and routing via the gateway is fine.

Attached is my tclient log.

Thanks in advance for you help!

The log you posted does seem to have a proxy issue or no connection to the net.

With proxy issues, it is fairly rare for any problems to come up during the GS. They only rear their ugly heads during the Daily calls.

Some people have no issues with TPG and other have had major issues.

Could you try the following on your TiVo:

wget http://210.48.107.133:8000

then

wget http://210.48.107.133:80

And post the results of both.

Also can you post the output of:

traceroute -n 131.244.9.101

Which ISP are you using, and what city are you in.

Hi,

I am with TPG ADSL2+ in Sydney NSW.

Try this.

Edit /var/hack/etc/emuProxyZA.conf and add the following 2 lines on the end:

proxyIP=proxy.tpg.com.au
proxyPort=80

Save the file, reboot, then try a daily call again.

Hi Peter,

Adding the proxy seems to have done the trick. I was able to make the daily call without the Service not available message. It did fail the first time with a Call interrupted but when I retries the daily call it seemed to reload the rest.

Thanks for your help.
