Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone had been able to hack a tivo to play remote files on a fileserver etc.
I have read about people doing it using tivoserver.

have any of you done this at all,

Thanks

I can play files from one tivo to another in real time or upload files from a fileserver to the tivo to play later using mfs_ftp and sync now playing.

But because of the lack of spare horsepower in the S1 TiVo, the files need to be in .ty or .tmf style format before hitting the TiVo.

S2's can play mpgs using tivo2go features.

Peter.

You don't need any kind of emulator for that, mfs_ftp will upload from just about any kind of pc os that an FTP program can access.

get an old xbox and put xbox media centre on it. you will never look back. there is a xtivo script that puts the tivo front end on it so you can access the tivo anywhere from your xbox. also in tivowebplus you can just go to now showing and view the show in windows media player etc. on your pc. that works well too.
