Howdy
Just returned from living in the US where Tivo had the "rule of the roost"

I've done heaps of reading about the challenges of a S2 in OZ, but wanted to get it up and running and have a play around.

First issue is the dreaded NTSC only tuner. Does anybody have any suggestion on how I can get around this? Cheapest option would be great.
Ive been looking at cheap set-top boxes, but none say it will pump out a NTSC signal, only PAL. Is there a particular brand I should be looking at?

Any suggestions??? :)

Thanks

Rob

I have found the DSE G7659 and Woolworths 'Kross' brand STB boxes to output an 'acceptable' NTSC signal. There is still some jerkyness when panning, but that cannot be helped due to the loss of frames in conversion.

I think the DSE box may have been discontinued, but Woolworths here still has stocks of the Kross boxes @ around $80.

If you want a better picture, use any PAL STB with a Digital Standards convertor box (Not Analog) to fix the missing frame issue.
